Who can apply for a Low Rate MasterCard?
If you are an Australian resident, over 18 years old, with a minimum gross annual income of $20,000 for applicants between 18 and 54 years of age and $15,000 for applicants over 55 years of age, and a credit union member, you can apply for a Low Rate MasterCard.
How do I apply for a Low Rate MasterCard?
Click here to download an application form (18 to 54 years of age or over 55 years) or you can collect an application form from your nearest BHCCU branch. Simply complete and mail the application to Card Services or return it to a branch.
How long will my application take to process?
While we will try and process your application as soon as possible you should allow up to 3 weeks for your application to be processed and for your new MasterCard and PINs to be posted to you.
What's the difference between a Silver and a Gold Low Rate MasterCard?
You have the choice of applying for a Silver card or Gold card (subject to the income criteria). The Gold card includes all the standard features, plus extra benefits such as higher credit limits and free international comprehensive travel insurance. See Key Features for more information.
How much does it cost to have a Low Rate MasterCard?
An annual fee of $45 is payable for the Silver Low Rate MasterCard. An annual fee of $85 is payable for the Gold Low Rate MasterCard.
How do I make payments to my Low Rate MasterCard?
You can make payments using BPAY (via telephone banking or internet banking), over the counter at Australia Post outlets (a fee applies), by cheque or by Easi-Pay. With Easi-Pay, repayments are automatically transferred from your nominated credit union or bank account.
How often will I receive information on my account?
A statement, which details your account balance, available credit, transactions and payment due, will be issued monthly. In addition, all your account details are available at your fingertips by going to www.cardservicesdirect.com.au
